This week's program, By the Decades: 1860s - The Tilton-Mitchell Episode, tells the story of Olympia's runaway slave. Host Deborah Ross takes us to Capitol Lake, once the home of James Tilton. . . and a young boy, Charlie Mitchell, who had been given to the Tiltons as a wedding present. Deb interviews Public Historian Lorraine McConaghy, a marvelous storyteller, on how she came to discover this surprising tale. First aired in March, 2018.
