The Thurston County Homefront During World War I Historian Jennifer Crooks’ illustrated presentation will explore the lives of people in Lacey and Thurston County during World War I. The war impacted nearly every aspect of life. Topics will include service organizations like the Red Cross, shipbuilding, food rationing, schools (including Saint Martin’s University) and veterans.
