Carol De Ment discusses her book, Saving Nary. With her Peace Corps background and experience in SE Asian refugee resettlement, Carol is uniquely qualified to write about and speak on the lives of people who have struggled under the regime of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. That horrific situation is the backdrop for her novel. It tells the story of Khath Sopal and how he is able to escape the Khmer Rouge and yet continues to be haunted by the horrors he has tried to leave behind.
