Learning in Retirement Lecture Series -Honoring Women Peace-builders in Africa & Beyond

This Learning in Retirement presentation is by Richard Middleton-Kaplan, former Dean of Arts and Science at Walla Walla Community College. What makes women’s peace-building movements so effective—often more effective than larger scale national and international initiatives? Why is the work of women peacebuilders less well-known and celebrated than that of their male counterparts? Is the collective nature of women’s peacemaking work a reason it’s both effective yet also under-appreciated? These and other questions are answered. Thanks to the Office of Philanthropy and Lifestyle Enrichments for funding and coordinating this series. Thanks to the Auditorium staff for sharing the presentation.
